Awaab's Law, What Every UK Landlord Must Know Before It's Too Late

  There's a name behind this law that every landlord in England should know. Awaab Ishak was just two years old when he died in December 2020. He lived in a one-bedroom flat in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, a flat that was covered in black mould. His family complained repeatedly. For years. Nothing was done. The coroner concluded that Awaab died from a severe respiratory condition directly caused by prolonged exposure to mould in his home. He was two years old. His death shook the housing sector in a way that decades of campaigning had failed to do.
